Body – Spaces

Series of 22 digitalprints, 65 x 90 cm, 1998

In her work "Body – Spaces" Elisabeth Wörndl is dealing with issues of the human body combined with urbanism.

The artist is using pictures of her own body f. e. the inside of her eyes ( blood vessels, bone structures etc) referring to images of the inside of the body by Renaissance artists. The artist also did full body computer scanning sessions receiving high tech pictures.

The hospital body pictures and the computer scanning pictures are combined and overlayed with views of cities at the end of the century ( Salzburg, Glasgow, London) like a metapher through digital imaging.
