Series of 14 Digitalprints, 2000-01
Proceeding from the work "Body-Spaces/ Körper-Räume" when Elisabeth Wörndl dealt with her own body in connection with city and city life she continues to work with her body, this time dealing with human genetics.
She works together with scientists and researches her own body cells to transfer them into photography.
She explores her body liquids like blood, spittle, or bits of her hair and skin asking questions how identity is shaped from our biological make up.
The idea of the transferral of genetic information and the aestetics of substances are the key areas of investigation.
She combines the scientistic images of her body with images of the desert of Arizona., USA The result of this collaboration is in form of digital photography, which should invite viewers to experience genetics among other things like "Metaphorical Calculators".
