Chicago City Cells 2007

Chicago served Elisabeth Wörndl both as inspiration and motive. By the means of digital photography she captured the unique atmosphere of the city. All the photos are made from top of the John Hancock Building or the Seas Tower, both buildings used to be for many year the highest building in the city and are now landmark high raisers.

Next to these photographs Elisabeth Wörndl also developed a new videowork. She photographed the easily accessible sculpture in Millennium Park by Anish Kapoor and animated the photographs.

Elisabeth Wörndl regards the photos of the mirror sculpture as germ cells of contemporary city life and therefore the work is called Citycells.
